The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is already one of the most powerful V models in the Cadillac stable with the four door offering ample amounts of power and driving fun right out of the box. But what if you’re a collector who loves Formula 1 racing and wants even more power out of your Cadillac?

The luxury brand thinks it has the answer with the all-new CT5-V Blackwing Formula 1 Edition a rolling homage to the brand’s renewed track presence.

More power for the track set

Usually when we see an automaker create a special edition like this, it’s mainly a styling package that’s all show but doesn’t add much when it comes to the formal performance part. This particular special edition however is a bit different and gets an upgraded supercharger that boosts power from 668 horsepower to 685 hp with torque also going up to 673 lb-ft of torque.

A six-speed manual is the only transmission available and all of them will come with the typically optional Precision Package which includes numerous upgraded suspension components, carbon-ceramic brakes, and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires. The pack is an $18,000 upgrade on the standard Blackwing.

Sleek styling makes this CT5-V standout

While the F1 Edition maintains alot of the core traits that define a standard Blackwing, these models get an exclusive paint color called Midnight Stone Frost with the color being complimented by gloss black badging, Carbon Flash Metallic wheels, and Harbor Grey Metallic brake calipers.

Formula 1 branding is also abundant with the door sills getting “Cadillac Formula 1” script while the shifter gets an exclusive F1 medallion. Even the supercharger gets FIA branding and an F1 badge on the cover.

How much?

Cadillac didn’t reveal formal pricing for the F1 Edition but the standard Blackwing can provide a good base line for where to start with the Precision Package causing the price to go up to $135,175. With the package being standard on the F1 Edition (as well as some of its upgrades) the price could potentially go all the way up to $150,000 plus.

This would allow the F1 Edition to serve as a limited production halo model for the marque which builds on the strong sales performance the CT5 has seen in recent years with some of its sales figures even surpassing Cadillac’s original sales projections.
