Cadillac is embarking on an ambitious campaign to expand its presence in the luxury customization market. While the ultra-rare Cadillac Celestiq is often seen as the spearhead of these efforts due to its in-house production at GM’s Tech Center and its attempts to replicate Rolls and Bentley models, the brand is focusing on other avenues.

This includes the debut of the Curated by Cadillac service which will be making its debut on the CT5-V Blackwing.

Cadillac Curated Service provides an extra pinch of custom flair

Cadillac is showing off its unique spin on vehicle customization with Cadillac Curated Service.

Like other luxury vehicles that we have seen over the years from other luxury automakers, the Curated by Cadillac treatment attempts to give the Blackwing an exclusive suite of styling upgrades. In the case of the CT5, it’s built at Cadillac’s  “Artisan Center” in Warren, Michigan which is also where the Celestiq is built.

However, these special CT5s are built at a different portion of the facility and the choice of custom features is also a bit different with Cadillac saying buyers will have a choice of over 160 colors with gloss and matte finishes being offered. Each of these colors is applied by hand and the brand will also bring other color and trim options to the list and promises “millions” of combinations. This could be a subtle dig at services like Aston Martin’s Q service which also offer a seemingly unlimited pool of potential combinations to their customers.

Custom colors and trim options promise to provide “millions” of different color combinations

Buyers that choose to partake in the experience will also be accompanied by a concierge who will help them with color and trim options. They all have design backgrounds and can help buyers pick the right blend of colors and trims.

Performance is largely carried over, but be prepared to pay a hefty premium

With all of the changes being focused exclusively on styling and colors, it’s good to hear that the CT5-V Blackwing’s mechanical hardware will be carried over unchanged. Like their slightly more mainstream cousins, these custom Blackwings will be powered by a supercharged V8 that can be paired with either a six-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic. These pairings make the Blackwing a unique pick in a segment where smaller engines are rapidly becoming the new normal.

Only 50 of these special CT5-V Blackwings will get the Curated treatment.

This high level of style and customization does come at a price. Cadillac says that the program will be available on an extremely limited basis with only 50 cars being allotted for the U.S. Canadian markets in 2026. All 50 will start at $158,000 which is a noticeable bump up from the standard model’s $101,820 base sticker.

Look for this service to make its way to other Cadillac models over the next few year. These special CT5-V Blackwing models can be considered a form of pilot program for the Curated by Cadillac service with the brand using the data learned from the customer experience to potentially expand it to other models. The big test will be bringing it to its EV lineup with the Escalade IQ and even the smaller Optiq potentially being early candidates for the service in the future.
