The 2025 Japan Mobility Show is already promising to one of the biggest shows this year in the Japanese market. While Toyota, Suzuki and others will continue to be heavy hitters at the show, Mazda is preparing a steamy new Vision concept that will make its debut on the show floor.

Teaser image promises to be a show stealer

For now, our view of the Vision concept is limited to the sloping roofline, but the company says the concept is supposed to embody “the vision for future Mazda vehicles,” serving as a design and technology blueprint for upcoming models. The image itself shows off the bulk of the profile with the concept having four doors, frameless windows, and smooth surfaces.

The interior is clearly focused on the showcar side of design with distinct not for production headrests but the main question here is what are we exactly looking at? Mazda is known for its sedans and chances are high that this concept might be a sporty four-door sedan of some kind. At the same time, the recent push into SUVs does raise the possibility of this being a coupe-CUV.

Mazda has not formally embraced this particular sub-segment of the utility vehicle market as of yet, but the company’s focus on sporty design would give it a leg up over some of its rivals if it chooses to explore this segment with a production model of its own. The concept is also supposed to build on the company’s theme of sustainable fuels for its booth so this concept is certainly bringing a green powerplant to the mix.

Concept to be accompanied by Euro-spec CX-5

While the Vision concept is previewing the future, the showcar will also be joined by the European spec Mazda CX-5. This particular version of the CX-5 wil be making its first ever public debut at the show along with a “SeDV” version of the CX-30 that was designed to accommodate the disabled.

Lastly, Mazda will also showoff its proprietary CO₂ capture technology, which reduces CO₂ emissions the more people drive, as well as algae-derived carbon-neutral fuel. These innovations are not coming to production in the near future, but they will eventually play a part in Mazda’s goal of supporting circular society.
