The Hyundai Tucson has always had a look that has made it stand out when viewed alongside some of its peers. But beneath the bold lines and some of its angled lighting, the Tucson was starting to show its age. Hyundai has chosen to rectify this boldly with the heavily revamped 2027 Tucson.

A whole new look and more attitude to match

Unlike the outgoing Tucson, the 2027 model adopts a boxier look with the compact CUV getting integrated H-moifs for both the front and rear lighting. Hyundai has been toying around with this look in recent years, with models like the larger and soon-to-be revamped Santa Fe also expected to adopt this styling theme.

The Tucson also grows in all dimensions, with the 0.8-inch boost in height allowing it to have 1.1 inches of extra rear headroom. Hyundai says the SUV is still a compact, but when viewed from many angles, it’s clear that distinction has suddenly become blurred.

A new frontier in Tucson tech

Slip inside the 2027 Tucson, and you’ll find that Hyundai has also given the interior a major workover. The Tucson appears to be the latest entry to get the company’s new Pleos infotainment system, with the large display sporting a small row of analog buttons to maintain functionality. A small digital instrument cluster is mounted in full view of the driver, and the steering wheel gets a squareish new shape.

Higher-quality materials are also splashed throughout, but since Hyundai chose to only showcase the design, the Korean auto giant stopped short of revealing any extensive technical details about what we are seeing.

When will we learn more?

For now, this is our best view of the 2027 Tucson, but that will change later this year. Like other new Hyundai models, the Tucson will go on sale first in Korea, with the first production units reaching dealerships over there this fall. Look for the company to release more detailed information prior to that first launch.

The rest of the world, including the U.S., is expected to get it sometime in 2027.
