Bentley’s Continental has become a cornerstone for the bespoke British luxury car maker and while the Bentayga SUV is responsible for providing sales, the Continental is the figurative eye candy int he room.
This eye candy role comes as Bentley continues to flesh out the lineup with the company using the occasion to roll out the updated GT S variant which gets a new hybrid engine that also gives it more power than before.
GT S fills a gap in the lineup

The GT S version has always served as a middle ground choice for wealthy buyers with the model slotted between the base model and the hardcore SuperSports variant. The GT S follows the same script as other recent Continental models with the coupe getting a hybrid system for the V8 and standard all-wheel drive. The S gets 128 more hp than before for a revised total of 670 hp and 686 lb-ft of torque.
Bentley says the new setup outperforms the old W12 but look for that assurance to not go over well with hardcore fans who still miss the iconic twelve-cylinder engine. The company also says the GT S can make the sprint to 62 mph in three and a half seconds but the top speed dips slightly to 190 mph. When you’re not asking the 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 to go through the paces, the hybrid system allows the GT S to go up to 50 miles in all-electric mode.

Bentley kept images of the interior to a minimum but with the current generation model currently cruising through 2026 without a major revamp, expect the cabin to continue to be carried over mostly unchanged with the GT S adding bi-color accents and darkened exterior and interior trim to help set it apart from the rest of the lineup.
When can I buy one?

Bentley also didn’t reveal when it intends to formally bring the model to dealerships but look for the updated GT S to make its appearance in the middle of 2026.
