Mazda has released pricing for the 2026 MX-5 Miata and while the model is still not getting a revamp in the near future, the company did apply bit of an update to pricing as it attempts to reinforce the little two-doors value amongst its more powerful competition.
Prices only going up slightly

Unlike other automakers which tend to raise prices by a significant margin, Mazda revealed it’s only raising prices by $600 across the entire trim ladder. That means a base Sport with the six-speed manual starts at $31,665 with the range-topping Grand Touring starting at a revised $36,965. The Grand Touring is also the only one that gets an optional automatic but with that option costing $920 and being less fun, we suggest not going for it.

As for the RF, prices go up by $750 for 2026 with the pricing breaching $40,000 when properly equipped especially in Club guise. We’re glad that Mazda applied such a light touch to pricing since it allows it to be a firm rival to the Subaru BRZ, Ford Mustang, and even the Volkswagen GTI.
When will it get updated?
While the current generation MX-5’s bid to achieve automotive immortality has been impressive (keep in mind the current ND grade model debuted back in 2015) even this long-lived two-door needs an update eventually.

Mazda has so far not revealed when these updates will be taking place but look for a potential update to appear before 2030. The main changes we see could be the addition of a hybrid powerplant to help improve fuel economy while also giving it more power too. The exterior styling would also follow the trend we have seen in a few of their recent concept cars and the interior could benefit from some of the tech improvements that debuted on the Mazda CX-5.
In the meantime, look for the MX-5 to stay on course mainly to please its army of loyalists as it tends the proverbial shop at dealerships until its revamped successor eventually arrives.
