The venerable Honda Pilot has been a strong seller for the company with the three-row SUV continuing to be a hit with family buyers. But like all things in life, the Pilot is also starting to show its age.
Honda is addressing some of the wrinkles with the newly updated 2026 Honda Pilot which not only gets a new lease on life, but also new tech to help it stay fresh against segment rivals.
New looks make it more rugged than before

The exterior styling of the updated Pilot has gotten some tweaks with the larger front grille getting a new squared off look that shaves off some of its old trapezoidal look. The front and rear scuff plates have also been enhanced to make them more noticeable with Honda offering them in silver or black.
Meanwhile, the interior gets bigger screens with the SUV now getting a bigger 12.3-inch infotainment system that comes bundled with software updates to improve performance. The driver’s digital instrument cluster also grows slightly to 10.2-inches. In addition to the tweaked screens, the Pilot’s cabin is also quieter than before thanks to improved sound deadening and the addition of more noise absorbing features to reduce noise by as much as three decibels.

Performance for the 2026 Pilot is carried over from last year with all models continuing to be powered by a 3.5-liter V6 that makes 285 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque with a 10-speed automatic continuing to be the lone transmission offering. Honda said it made tweaks to the steering to improve responsiveness but we’ll wait until we have the opportunity to drive it ourselves to see whether Honda was successful in that venture or not. All-wheel drive will still be optional for the most part with the Touring, TrailSport, Elite, and Black Edition all getting it standard.
When can I buy one?

Honda chose to keep pricing information close to the vest for now, but confirmed that the SUV will be available in six trims (Sport, EX-L, Touring, TrailSport, Elite, and Black Edition) with several new colors also making there debut for the first time.
