When Stellantis reignited SRT a short while back, the company made it clear that it was extending the magic to all of its American brands. While we still get to wait and see what Chrysler is getting (if it gets anything…) Ram was one of the first brands to get into the act, with the return of the TRX. The TRX’s blown V8 was sweet music to the ears of many, but what if Ram was allowed to do more?
It appears that Ram is indeed cooking something up, with the truck brand releasing a new teaser video that suggests it might be making a rumored Rumble Bee model as its next performance entry.
It sounds great
This apparent confirmation came via a teaser video the company released featuring UFC boss Dana White. The video is loud, brash, and full of patriotic vibes with White taking viewers on a high octane tour of performance and history.
White also spliced in select clips of UFC fights making sure to select ones that lasted longer than the 17-second MMA fight between Gina Carano and Ronda Rousey last weekend. The goods buyers want is found at the very end where a modified yellow and black Ram makes its appearance after doing a wild donut and burnout routine.
The truck proudly shows off its track capabilities and its unsubtle yellow and black paint job. But other than a possible glimpse of a bee graphic on its flanks, the smoke (and Ram themselves) hide key details away from prying eyes. What we can see is a truck that appears to use the 1500 Ram as a base with the fenders from the TRX/RHO being included to help accomodate the larger wheels and tires.
The Rumble Bee is a familiar name

The Rumble Bee name has been a familiar name at Ram but one that hasn’t been seen in a while depending on how you look at it. The Rumble Bee was last sighted in 2013 when it was teased as a concept that ultimately never made production.
As for a production version, that appeared back in the 2004-2005 model years when the Ram was given the Rumble Bee treatment. The package back then featured an aggressive body kit, shiny chrome wheels, yellow paint, and the 5.7-liter V8. The color choice was slightly expanded in 2005 when the truck got a variant with black paint. Expect this Rumble Bee (if it uses that moniker) to be far more potent and arrive on the scene with a whole new level of upgrades including a functional hood scoop.
When will we see it?
All of this sounds great but there are still plenty of unanswered questions. It’s not known what’s powering it, though the 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 is a good enough guess for most, and Ram didn’t reveal when it will be formally unveiling the truck.
However, there are two possibilities at play here in regards to the latter. The first possible date would be on July 4th when the United States will celebrate its 250th anniversary. The second date would actually be a month earlier on June 14th when UFC hosts Freedom 250 at the White House.
This unique fight card is a historic first due to its location, and Ram is a presenting sponsor of the fight. Having the truck at the pay per view would not only allow Ram to go full circle in their agreement with White, but also give attendees a glimpse of the truck too.
