Easter is always a special time at Jeep and with the holiday fast approaching, Jeep has chosen to unleash its latest wave of Easter Safari concepts before they rumble their way down to the Moab desert for their public debut.
Jeep Cherokee Pioneer is for the older crowd

Before we get into the other five newer concepts, we might as well spend some time looking over the lone heritage themed entry in this year’s crop of concepts; the Cherokee XJ Pioneer. This particular concept started life as a 1984 Cherokee but Jeep engineers lightly modified it with the SUV getting a two-inch suspension lift, a quick disconnecting sway bar, 33-inch all-terrain tires mounted on 17-inch wheels, and carbon fiber fender flares.

The interior also gets some unique touches but the choice of a vintage Cherokee is no accident with Jeep obviously taking advantage of the strong loyalty and interest the model has always enjoyed mostly due to its simplistic design and rugged performance hardware.
Jeep Wrangler brings a pair of showstoppers to this year’s safari

Meanwhile the Jeep Wrangler is represented by a pair of concepts with the first one being the Anvil 715. The Anvil is a serious overlander and while Jeep did sacrifice the removable roof panels for the mission, the piece does come with a custom roof rack and an integrated skylight. The front end gets styling similar to the 1960’s era SJ model and some of the aesthetic is also lifted from last year’s Bug Out 4xe concept. Performance comes from a 6.4 liter V8 that makes a balanced 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.

Meanwhile, the Buzzcut is powered by the 2.0-liter four-cylinder but look for its shouty Vitamin C orange paint and black contrast colors to do the bulk of the talking. A fastback roof gives it a chopped profile, but this is balanced out by a two-inch suspension lift with the extra clearance allowing the massive 37-inch tires to fit. The concept is also the latest to show off bits from the Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) catalog with notable additions including steel bumpers, a fuel door cover, and other goodies.
Grand Wagoneer Commander flies under the radar, Laredo Keeps things simple

At first glance, the Grand Wagoneer Commander concept may seem a bit too unassuming for its own good considering it doesn’t have much in terms of shouty add-ons. But this was actually done on purpose with designers wanting to give it a more understated look to match its high luxury pedigree. Black paint and darkened accents compliment the roof mounted lightbar and 35-inch tires. Jeep left the interior untouched but this particular concept is meant to show buyers that this large pavement dweller can be outfitted for serious trail work.

The Wrangler Laredo follows a similar pattern but chooses to keep things simple and this is reflected in its relatively minimal upgrades. The concept is powered by a 3.6 liter V6 which is hooked up to a six-speed manual transmission. The concept gets 17-inch wheels wrapped in 37-inch tires and a manually operated sky slider roof. The carpets are swapped out for vinyl floors and stylish cloth seats are added in too.
Gladiator Red Rock rounds out the roster

Rounding things out for this year is the Gladiator Red Rock concept. Like the Buzzcut, the Red Rock is a rolling showroom of JPP performance parts and comes with goodies such as 17-inch beadlock wheels, a steel front bumper with a front mounted Warn winch, 37-inch tires, and an off-road recovery kit that even comes bundled with rock rails and door sill guards.
The calling card for the Red Rock is in the bed with the concept featuring a rolling truck bed cargo tray as well as several lockable storage compartments that are mounted on both sides.
